Which Carbonation Dial setting should the Pinter be on?Updated a month ago

While your Pinter is in the Brewing Stage, the Carbonation Dial should be set to 5 for most of our styles. The correct setting for each brew will be specified in the Brewing Calendar and on our website. Do not adjust the dial during the brewing stage or while your beer is conditioning.

You can turn the Carbonation Dial down towards the end of tapping if the flow has slowed or stopped.

The higher the number on the Carbonation Dial, the more Co2 and pressure the Pinter holds onto, which in turn produces a more carbonated brew at the end.

You may wish for certain styles of brews to be less carbonated than others so you are more than welcome to have the Carbonation Dial setting to another number, bearing in mind the lower it is the less carbonated it will be.

I've accidentally turned my Carbonation Dial to OFF

If you've accidentally turned your Carbonation Dial to the OFF setting during brewing or conditioning, don't panic - this shouldn't ruin your brew!

During brewing

If this happened during brewing, simply turn the dial back to the correct setting and continue brewing. If you’re at the end of the brewing time, extend it by 24 hours. The pressure should rebuild in your Pinter, although the carbonation level may be slightly lower than usual.

During Conditioning

If this happened during conditioning, this is a bit more of an issue - but your brew may still be fine.

Turn your Carbonation Dial back to the correct setting immediately. Since oxygen has entered your brew post-brewing, the shelf life will be reduced, and carbonation will likely be lower than normal. We recommend consuming your brew within the next 7 days.
